A CHRISTMAS PRESENT FROM COSMIC KITTEN TO YOU! BUST OUT THE EGGNOG!
so this here record comes with a story, so imagine me as mr.scrooge except instead of chestnuts roasting on an open fire it's the a blue lives matters flag.
Once upon a time, Cosmic Kitten was cursed a curse most foul. A curse that burdened them with continual heart break, bass players came and went and came and went...and came...and also went....
it was January 2022 and Cosmic Kitten had a new lockout studio to rehearse and have a goodtime in! Then an idea comes...what if instead of an acoustic cover record, we record a full band cover record since we have a place to be loud in now! We can record it ourselves! Just for our friends and fans! Nothing fancy!
They asked their new bass player, he was down, and so they started tracking drums. Bass player wasn't ready to record...no problem! We'll do guitars and vocals and wait till bass is ready! Time passes, it's March...bass player isn't ready...No worries! still more to do! It's May, tracking is done, 4 recording session cancellations later, bass player still isn't ready. Then the text "Maybe you should do it yourself, they're just covers anyway." Sadness...
Time passes, the cover album is a fading memory. Cosmic Kitten records a new LP of original music, things are great! but also turbulent...it's now September 4th & the curse...continues...Cosmic Kitten parts ways with yet another bass player, auditioning starts, Though Cosmic Kitten's soul is bruised and the process is disorganized and disheartened.
As the hunt continues, suddenly, friend Don Mozzochi appears from the nether regions of the world. "Hey! I'm moving back to LA! Let's build a studio!" and so Zach & Don start out building a creative space for musicians affectionately dubbed "Break of DON Studios" they set out to help bands get their first good recordings made and out into the cosmos, but where to start?
"Hey dude, this kind of bummer thing happened would you be into helping me make it right?" Zach muttered defeatedly "Say no more my dunce-like ardent friend!" & so it began, the idea morphing instead of an album about the bass player curse, into an album celebrating bass players in all their glory. So it was wrought, a blood curdling cry shouted to the heavens and friends of Cosmic Kitten large of heart and kind of soul came to lay down the LOW END.
and it came to pass, that JEELI BEELI 3 came into existence. We couldn't have done it without all of the beautiful souls who believed in us enough to make this music with us (Listed Below), and without the influences of the people that came before (also listed below).
MERRY CHRISTMAS YOU FILTHY ANIMALS!
xoxo
